SUMMARY:Artist Talk: Form+Content Gallery
DESCRIPTION:On View: February 19 through March 28\n(Thursdays\, Fridays\, Saturdays 12:00 – 6:00 pm) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist’s Talk: Saturday\, March 28\, 4-6 pm \nWith great pleasure\, Form+Content Gallery presents “To Rejoin the Ocean” by Rachel Leah Cohn. This intensely colorful\, multi-faceted installation concerns themes of communication\, mythology and rituals. Rachel says\, “This work began in a cold creek in Wisconsin in 2021. While at ACRE Residency in Boscobel\, I was emerging from the isolation of the pandemic and deeply grateful to spend time each day in nature with new friends. Sitting in the water became a healing act\, reconnecting us to our bodies\, to one another\, and to the landscape. I came to understand the creek as a mikvah\, a Jewish ritual bath: a site of cleansing\, purification\, and transformation. The physical sensation of cold water against my body offered an antidote to the loneliness of the previous year. Through ritual\, the pool also connected me to an ancestral past and a long history of entering living waters and emerging renewed.” \nABOUT THE ARTIST \nRachel Leah Cohn exhibits her work nationally and internationally\, including Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis (CAMi) (IN)\, ACRE Gallery (Chicago\, IL)\, Satellite Art Fair (Miami\, FL)\, Terrain Biennial (Springfield\, IL)\, Massey University (New Zealand)\, Qatar Museums (Qatar)\, the Istanbul Design Biennial (Turkey) and Aterlierhaus Salzamt (Austria). She has attended many artist residency programs\, including Arteles Creative Center (FI)\, Vermont Studio Center (VT)\, ACRE Projects (WI)\, Signal Culture (NY)\, Otis College of Art and Design (CA) and the Fire Station (Qatar). Rachel holds a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design\, an MFA in Painting from Virginia Commonwealth University and teaches at the School of Art at Ball State University in Muncie\, Indiana.

SUMMARY:Luminary Art Center: Sketches of Minnesota
DESCRIPTION:MHC and the comedy team at Danger Boat Productions spent late summer and most of fall traveling to communities across Minnesota. They’ve taken stories from each town and put them into a hilarious sketch comedy revue. It’s like going along on the year-long Sketches of Minnesota road trip\, but you get to enjoy the highlights from the comfort of a theater seat…without the backseat driving. \nSketches of Minnesota is a traveling program designed to increase understanding and encourage conversations among people who might not know each other or have differing viewpoints\, by bringing neighbors together over a shared meal and improvisational comedy. These kinds of conversations are more crucial now than ever\, and we think that the program can facilitate essential healing within our Minnesota communities. \nSketches of Minnesota is presented in partnership with Danger Boat Productions. \nRegistration\nThis event is free\, however registration is required. \nRegistration Questions: registrations@mnhum.org \nRegister Now

DESCRIPTION:On View: October 09 through November 15 (Thursdays\, Fridays\, Saturdays 12-6pm) \nOpening Reception: Sunday\, October 12\, 2025\, 3:00-5:00pm \nArtist’s Talk: Thursday\, October 23\, 7:00 – 8:30 pm \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRosa Kittsteiner and Mark Ostapchuk share time spent in Minneapolis developing artwork. Their pictures are typically informed by visual responses to personal history and broader concerns about our place in the world. Rosa’s multi media paintings often feature gatherings of fantastic fish. Mark’s recent paintings and intaglio prints include stylized profiles of ghosts and plant sprouts. Both Mark and Rosa embrace an eagerness to question and critically respond to decisions in individual pieces and the overall direction of their work. The pieces in this exhibition are rooted in this reflection and practice. \n

His unique ability to bend and play with light brings a modern elegance to culturally rooted portraiture. Mansfield’s work stands out for its soulful depth\, timeless style\, and authentic storytelling.\n@digiemadephoto \nNicole H. Neri \nNicole Neri is a photographer whose work focuses on the interconnectedness of our universe\, described through studies of water. She keeps her editing processes limited to ensure that her photos accurately represent real physical processes of light and water.\n@nicolehneri \nKraig Thayer Rasmussen \nWhen I spend time in nature\, whether it is in Minnesota or the places I travel to\, I try to capture the essence or spirit of the place. I’m particularly moved by rivers\, their backwaters\, and metaphorical endlessness.  I hope my reverence for nature is conveyed by my paintings.\n@kraig_thayer_rasmussen \nTo purchase art\, please contact the artist directly. The artists keep 100% from the sale.
