DESCRIPTION:How good will you feel after donating an hour or so to help clean up this neighborhood that you love? \nService Saturday is the 2nd Saturday of each month in the North Loop. This month\, we have two ways you can help: \nLitter pickup: Join us at 9:30am outside Corner Coffee (514 N 3rd St) where we’ll set you up with bags and gloves. Then you’re free to pick up litter wherever you find it!  We’d also love to have you join us afterward at Cuzzy’s for brunch at 10:30. \nCreekside cleanup: Join us at 10am as we put a special focus on Bassett Creek (or Hahá Wakpádan in Dakota language). Our efforts will be focused on litter and invasive removal around the Bassett Creek outlet (near the bridges in the woods of James Rice Park)\, and we will be joined by a group from Hennepin History Museum who are developing an oral history project on the relationship between the Dakota and the creek. There will be a table with information on the project\, and we expect a large number of volunteers from Hennepin History Museum\, and Valley Community Presbyterian Church\, the project sponsor.

DESCRIPTION:Avivo\, zAmya and North Loop Neighborhood Association joined forces in an ongoing project aimed at establishing a shared vision in the North Loop of what needs to happen for all community members to feel safe\, have shelter\, and ensure support for the most vulnerable.\nOne special outcome of the project will be a new play – made by\, with and for – North Loop community members across the housing spectrum. This original musical will debut in 2025 and weave true experiences with unsheltered homelessness into a fictional narrative\, inspiring neighbors to dream up solutions to end homelessness. \nPlease join us for a community celebration of Avivo Village\, which has successfully provided permanent housing for more than 200 individuals! It’ll be an unforgettable evening of celebration\, community\, and hope – all at the beautiful new North Loop Green 360. Together\, we can make a difference!\n\nEnjoy meals and snacks from a food truck and beverages from a cash bar. \nEvent features a short presentation including: \n\nA short show from zAmya Theater Project: Excerpts from Dis Place\, a play currently in development about Avivo in the North Loop.\nCommunity Celebration: Acknowledging the achievements of Avivo Village in collaboration with zAmya Theater Project and the North Loop Neighborhood Association in a beautiful setting at North Loop Green 360’s outdoor space.\nCelebration Highlights: Honoring the partnership and collaborative efforts between Avivo\, zAmya\, and NLNA.
