DESCRIPTION:The Parks+Public Art Committee (P+PA) is dedicated to the planning\, design\, development and care of North Loop public spaces. Through a community-centered approach\, the committee works closely with city and local partners to connect the North Loop neighborhood residents and businesses to current and upcoming public space developments through discussion\, engagement\, and volunteerism. SUMMARY:Service Saturday: Choose Your Project!
DESCRIPTION:The second Saturdays of months May through November are Service Saturdays. \nThe second Saturday of each month is Service Saturday. Volunteers can choose between litter pick-up and riverfront projects. \nLitter pick-up volunteers meet at 9:30 am at Corner Coffee (514 N. 3rd St.). Trash bags\, gloves and garbage grabbers are provided\, but you can bring your own gloves and grabbers if you have them. Time commitment: About an hour. \nRiverfront volunteers meet at 10 am at the playground (4th Ave. and West River Parkway) and focus on a specific project each month. In June\, volunteers will spread mulch around the trees\, bushes and flowers surrounding the playground. Tools\, gloves and water are provided. Time commitment: About 90 minutes.
