SUMMARY:Art Talk at Federal Reserve
DESCRIPTION:Aldo Moroni and the Minneapolis Fed: A Hands-On Experience\n\nWe invite you to step inside the Minneapolis Federal Reserve to discover the intersection of art and economics\, showcasing the iconic artwork of renowned local artist Aldo Moroni inside one of the Twin Cities’ most recognizable modern landmarks. \nThis enriching 90-minute program combines a free tour of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis with an exclusive hands-on art workshop led by Moroni Studios. This welcoming\, beginner-friendly workshop is perfect for curious creatives\, design enthusiasts\, and anyone looking to engage with the city in a new way. \nBegin with a guided tour that recounts the story behind Moroni’s “This River\, This Place” and learn how this remarkable installation represents the unique features of the Ninth Federal Reserve District. Gain valuable understanding of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve’s structure\, leadership\, and essential functions within America’s central banking system. \nInspired by the playful\, sculptural work of Aldo Moroni\, you’re invited to design and build your own ceramic “tiny house.” Guided by studio artists\, you’ll experiment with form\, texture\, and storytelling—no prior experience needed. \n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Experience\nDuring this tour\, participants will: \n• Learn about the role and function of the Federal Reserve \n• Hear the story behind the installation of “This River\, This Place” \n• Create their own ceramic piece in the style of Aldo Moroni \n• Gain insight into how art and public space intersect with civic institutions \nTicket proceeds from this event are collected and retained solely by Aldo Moroni Studios and Rethos and are used to support the workshop costs and City Stories programs and operations. The Federal Reserve Bank is providing access to its facility as a venue only and does not receive any portion of ticket sales or proceeds from this event. \n\n\nMore details and tickets available here.
