SUMMARY:NLNA Avivo Village Good Neighbor Working Group
DESCRIPTION:Last month\, Avivo Village opened right here in the North Loop neighborhood.  Join the North Loop Neighborhood Association and Avivo for an informational meeting on April 26\, 2021 at 7:00pm to get updates on the project and hear how it’s going so far. The virtual meeting link\, agenda\, and general information about Avivo Village can be found below.\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://zoom.us/j/96152152175…\nMeeting ID: 961 5215 2175\nPasscode: home\n\nAgenda\n7-7:15   Welcome\, Introductions\n7:20       Avivo Village Overview & Updates – Avivo\n7:30       Recap of the Good Neighbor Agreement-NLNA\n7:35       Q & A\n7:50       Next steps\n8:00       Closing \nWhat is Avivo Village? \nAvivo Village is an interior\, tiny home community located at 1251 North Washington in the North Loop. It is designed to be a dignified\, safe\, and COVID-aware alternative to outdoor encampments. It is a low-barrier shelter that operates as a transitional housing model. It’s open to adults who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness in Minneapolis and Hennepin County. One hundred adults will live at Avivo Village at any given time. It offers dignity and essential services\, like substance use disorder treatment\, mental health therapy\, medical care\, and pathways to overall well-being. Residents begin to discover next steps for permanent supportive housing\, obtain employment\, and receive healthy living supports. \nAvivo Village also houses service providers\, case managers\, and security services. The approach is culturally-responsive\, low-barrier\, and trauma-informed. Avivo staff and security are on site\, 24 hours a day\, seven days a week. We coordinate whatever wrap-around services are needed for residents to be successful in living at Avivo Village and be successful in moving out into permanent housing. \nHere is a brief video tour of the facility as of 2/17  \nWhat is the Good Neighbor Agreement and Working group? \nThe Good Neighbor Agreement and the Working group seeks to achieve the following goals related to the relationship of Avivo Village and the North Loop Neighborhood: \n\nInitiate and maintain open and transparent communications and understanding among the parties to be proactive and ready to respond if concerns arise.\nDevelop clear expectations and procedures for resolving problems.\nEnhance neighborhood safety and livability and promote access to services.\nFoster positive relationships between the guests of Avivo Village and other community members.\nReduce livability concerns and the fear of livability concerns in the neighborhood.

SUMMARY:Artists Reception on Earth Day: Gallery One
DESCRIPTION:Meet the artists and enjoy the photography by @steveozonephoto and the abstract and contemporary paintings by @jodireebartist.\n\n\nThe Nature of Things by Jodi Reeb\nReeb creates mixed-media paintings using photographs of pollinator-friendly plants taken “from the bee’s perspective”. These paintings are created using Encaustic paint\, (molten beeswax\, pigment and resin) oil pigment stick and photographic images printed on tissue paper as collage. This is a new direction for Reeb combining encaustic painting to create mixed-media works that have the luminosity of beeswax while maintaining the graphic nature of photography.\n\n\nNo Claim: Assimilation\, Integration and Adaptation by Steve Ozone\nOzone’s photographs are his means of exploring immigration and family history and while the subjects may seem odd to the majority of the people in the United States\, he’s come to realize food tells the true story of assimilation and integration. These images of vegetables and flowers are digitally captured against a black background which emphasizes the color and detail of the subject.\n\n\nContact: Ron Ridgeway at @ArtLeadershipProgram or via email at ArtLeadershipProgram@gmail.com or via phone at 612 562 0889.\n\nGallery One O P N V U is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm\, or by appointment. The current exhibition runs through March 30\, 2021.\n(https://steveozone.com/home.html)\n\n(https://jodireeb.com/home.html)
