SUMMARY:A Shot and a Beer! Covid Booster Clinic
DESCRIPTION:“A Shot and a Beer” COVID Booster Clinic\nTHIS SATURDAY\, DECEMBER 4 • 1:00PM – 4:00PM • MODIST BREWING \nJoin the North Loop Neighborhood Association for a COVID Booster Clinic at Modist Brewing this Saturday afternoon! Our on-site pharmacist will be administering Moderna boosters. Sign up to secure your timeslot here. We may not be able to accommodate walk-ins\, so make sure you sign up in advance! \nPlus\, to thank you for being such an excellent steward of public health\, Modist is offering half-off a beer for everyone who gets their booster on site that day! Just show your updated immunization card to staff when you order.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule Your Booster Appointment Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooster Information from the MN Department of Health\nAll Minnesotans age 18 and older are recommended to get a booster shot. The timing of your booster shot depends on the vaccine you received for your initial vaccine series. \n\nIf you got Johnson & Johnson vaccine:  All Minnesotans age 18 and older should get a booster shot at least 2 months after their first dose.\nIf you got Pfizer or Moderna vaccine:  All Minnesotans age 18 and older should get a booster shot at least 6 months after their primary series of COVID-19 vaccine.\n\nOfficials allow “mixing and matching” COVID-19 vaccine boosters\, meaning anybody who is eligible to get a booster shot can get any of the three currently authorized or approved vaccines (Pfizer\, Moderna\, Johnson & Johnson)\, regardless of what vaccine they received for their primary series. \nTalk to your health care provider about your risk\, the need for a booster dose\, and any questions about mixing and matching doses. \nCOVID-19 vaccines are effective\, especially at preventing serious illness and death. However\, evidence is showing that boosters for all adults\, given at the appropriate time after your primary vaccination series\, can help extend the protection and keep it at a higher level. Learn more here.

SUMMARY:Form + Content Gallery: Chemistry and Glue
DESCRIPTION:A collaboration between Jon Neuse and Ellie Kingsbury\nWhen: January 27 – March 5\, 2022\nJon Neuse and Ellie Kingsbury have not been slowed by the pandemic\, in fact they have taken the opportunity to consider the power of curiosity and inquiry as an endless expanse of possibilities. \nBoth artists\, with studios in the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art\, work independently with their loose methodologies and continually ask what more they can do with their mediums. Neuse has reworked old paintings and monotypes\, and Kingsbury has taken expired photographic paper to a new dimension. They are both intrigued by seeing how formal artistic principles are reconciled. In each of their work they share a process of evaluating line\, mass\, color\, value\, and subject\, using their preferred tools and materials. Experimentation is the life-force of their creativity\, always asking what’s next while not asking what anything means. \nCHEMISTRY AND GLUE \n\n\n\n\nForm and Content Gallery presents Chemistry and Glue\, an exhibition of new work by Jon Neuse and Ellie Kingsbury. \nJon Neuse and Ellie Kingsbury have not been slowed by the pandemic\, in fact they have taken the opportunity to consider the power of curiosity and inquiry as an endless expanse of possibilities. Both artists\, with studios in the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art\, work independently with their loose methodologies and continually ask what more they can do with their mediums. Neuse has reworked old paintings and monotypes\, and Kingsbury has taken expired photographic paper to a new dimension. \nThey are both intrigued by seeing how formal artistic principles are reconciled. In each of their work they share a process of evaluating line\, mass\, color\, value\, and subject\, using their preferred tools and materials. Experimentation is the life-force of their creativity\, always asking what’s next while not asking what anything means. \nArtist’s Biography\nJON NEUSE \nPlayfulness\, experimentation and judgement are the principles behind my art. I begin all work whimsically not knowing how the work will look in the end. I experiment to make the visual relationships taut\, and I constantly evaluate if formal artistic elements resolve themselves into lasting relationships. \nIn these collages I attempted to create a counterpoint to Ellie’s experimental work. I worked with oil stick and pieces of old paintings and prints glued to black paper\, while she worked with white photo paper and chemicals. My work is more geometric and less organic than hers. \nI have been represented nationally in galleries from Connecticut to San Francisco and Chicago to Santa Fe. I have been in many solo and group exhibitions in area galleries\, including the Katherine E. Nash Gallery\, the Phipps\, the old Circa Gallery\, and the Traffic Zone Gallery. \nELLIE KINGSBURY \nMy goal is to stretch the capacity of photographic paper to new ends\, not to create an “image”. Working without a negative\, I strive for pure abstract form. Sharp contrasty edges sit alongside muffled tones\, creating a rather galactic look. \nI have used photography as my principle art form for the past 40 years\, and am currently incorporating mixed media into my projects. I am a recipient of the McKnight Fellowship and twice recipient of the Artist Initiative grant through the Minnesota State Arts Board. I have shown both nationally and internationally\, including group exhibitions in Beijing\, Helsinki\, San Francisco\, Philadelphia\, and Portland Oregon. I have had several solo exhibitions\, including the Bloomington Center for the Arts\, Cameraworks Gallery\, the Vine Arts Center. \nExhibition Dates: January 27 – March 5\, 2022 \nOPENING RECEPTION\nFriday\, January 28\, 2022 6:00 – 8:30pm\nVirtual artist talk will be uploaded on the Form and Content website by February 4\, 2022 \nGallery hours: Thursday – Saturday\, 12:00 – 6:00pm and by appointment\nFree and open to the public \nArtist Conversation: Virtual gallery tour with pre-recorded artist talk will be made available on the Form + Content website by February 4\, 2022 \nExhibition Hours: Thursday\, Friday\, Saturday\, 12:00 – 6:00 pm \nAppointments are not required.
