DESCRIPTION:Our annual “Pups on the Patio” photo session will be held a little differently this year. We are very serious about everyone’s safety\, so everyone will be given a 20 minute time slot to come and get their portraits done for our wall. You will need to get a ticket for a time slot from Eventbrite (only 2 dogs per time slot). Tickets are free but are necessary for keeping social distancing. If you need help acquiring the ticket please reach out to us and we will help you. In the meantime we will be watching Covid-19 infection rate numbers and will cancel the event if they get too crazy. DESCRIPTION:Join your neighbors for our monthly Service Saturday – helping keep our neighborhood the best of the best! \nWe’re giving you more chances to get out\, meet your neighbors and help beautify the community with our latest Service Saturday\, October 10th.\n\nThe new item this month is the Tree Census\, where you can help determine where the Park Board will plant dozens more trees in the North Loop. \nHere’s the schedule: \n9:00 Litter Pickup — Meet outside Corner Coffee\, 514 North 3rd Street. We’ll provide the bags and gloves\, and you’ll pick a part of the neighborhood to clear away some of that stray litter. \n10:00 Park Clearing — Meet near the playground at James I Rice Park\, West River Parkway and 4th Avenue North. We’ll provide gloves and tools and steer you toward some invasive vines that need to come down as well as other cleanup tasks along the river. \n10:00-noon Voter Registration — If you know someone who hasn’t registered to vote yet\, get them to the playground at James I Rice Park. We’ll get them all signed up and ready to take part in this very important election. \n11:00 Tree Census — Meet at Corner Coffee\, 514 North 3rd Street\, where you’ll get easy instruction on how to use a texting platform on your phone to notify the Park Board of open spots where trees could be planted as well as spots where trees have died and need to be replaced. \n\n…………………………………………………………………\nNorth Loop Service Saturdays are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month\, and include a variety of activities depending on time of year and what the needs are. \nHere are some of the activities that have been part of our Service Saturdays: \n\nTrash Pickup (every month\, plus weeks inbetween)\nJames Rice Park Cleanup (clearing brush\, weeds and tree branches; mowing; and general beautification)\nWelcome Park Maintenance (weeding\, mowing\, pruning)\nDonations Drives (depending on the need – including critical supplies for our North Minneapolis neighbors following George Floyd’s murder\, supplies for teens and young adults at YouthLink\, school supplies for kids learning at home)\nVoter Registration and Voter Information\nBlood Donations\n\nJoin us!

DESCRIPTION:The City’s Small Business Team works to help people start and grow small businesses in Minneapolis. They recently launched the Minneapolis Business Portal\, which provides entrepreneurs and business owners with valuable information and resources to plan\, launch\, and grow a business. \nIn addition\, the Small Business Team holds regular community office hours for consultations around the City: \n\nCentral Library\, 2nd Floor: every other Tuesday from 10am-1pm; the next one is May 8th\nNorth Regional Library: every 4th Thursday\, 1pm-3pm.\nHosmer Library: every 3rd Wednesday\, 3pm-6pm.\n\nIf you are looking to start or grow a small business\, come to a community office hour or contact the Small Business Team at 612-673-2499 or smallbusiness@minneapolismn.gov.
