Traffic Zone Gallery presents Now is the Time/Time After Time and Drawings of Protest by Minneapolis artist Perci Chester. Now is the Time/Time After Time installation of clock boxes, tree limbs and stone, moves through the gallery space with anthropomorphic forms whose heads are vintage clock boxes. They mark time as no time – endless time – and the present time. Movement is action. Now’s the time. Drawings of Protest ink and watercolor on paper were made in the early 70’s when the artist was protesting in the streets with other students and communities demanding transparency and freedom for all Americans. She also marched in Washington at that time and felt the emotional intensity expressed in these drawings.
