Hennepin County Waste Reduction & Recycling – SURVEY
My name is Marielle Mateo, I am a GreenCorps member serving Hennepin County’s waste reduction and recycling unit. My projects focus on preventing food waste and so I created a survey to understand what residents need to prevent food waste in their home.
The survey gathers information on how residents currently interact with food – from shopping, storage, cooking, and disposal – and what tools would be useful to help residents reduce the amount of food that goes to waste. The county’s plan is to use the results from this survey along with findings from additional research to develop resources and messaging to help residents prevent food waste.
By taking steps to reduce food waste, we can ensure the money we spend on our food and the energy, land, and water it takes to grow it doesn’t go to waste
We are hoping to hear from as many residents as possible, with a special focus on multifamily housing. I know there is a strong renter and multifamily home presence in Minneapolis, so I am reaching out to ask your neighborhood association to help spread this survey and encourage your neighbors to respond. Please help us reach all of our community partners by spreading this survey through your green and environmental teams, newsletters, social media, and by email. I’ve included a ready-made media kit to use as well!
The survey will be open until mid-March and takes about 5 minutes to complete. Take the food waste survey now.
If you have any questions about the survey, feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
