Congratulations to Chef Andy Vyskocil of La Voya Brasserie, winner of the 2019 Country Financial Chef Challenge! Many thanks to runner up Chef Adam Randall, the competition’s judges and emcees, and Country Financial for a fantastic event!
Dreading the end of summer and its abundance of fresh and local produce? Try your hand at pickling and preserving to enjoy summer fruits and veggies year round! Countless cucumber varieties are available at the market, as well as green beans, carrots, onions, berries, and other things waiting to be pickled and preserved! We’re almost at peak tomato season, so be sure to stock up and try your hand at canning!
What’s at the Market?
August means abundance at the market! We’ve got plenty of cucumbers, greens, corn, beans, and nightshades- think tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers! While the season might have started off slow, the market is full of fresh and local food!
In addition to produce, you can also find tasty things like kombucha, eggs, cheese, hot sauce, salsa, and baked goods- all from local businesses!
