It should come as no surprise to anyone that the weather plays an integral part in the lives of farmers. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse. This season, the weather started very cool and wet and it seems to be ending on the same note.
Lots of rain plus the cool temperatures have made it really difficult for the farmers to get out into the fields and harvest the remainder of what’s left for the season. And even if they can, the excess moisture dramatically deceases the shelf life of the harvested vegetables. Nonetheless, the farmers are giving it their ALL and the best way for you to help is to keep coming to market and supporting the local growers!
The Nicollet Mall Market is going to be open through Thursday, October 31st. You have just a couple more days of Market left so come out and stock up on all your favorites!!
