New Concert Venue Has A New Name
Less than a week before the grand opening of The Fillmore, the new concert venue in the North Loop has a new name.
It’s now officially named The Fillmore Presented by Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. It’s the result of a sponsorship deal that not only includes naming rights but also establishes new commitments to expand Minnesota’s music and performing arts community.
Affinity Plus announced an annual scholarship, in partnership with the Music Forward Foundation, for Minnesota students pursuing a music, performance, hospitality or related career. It will also host music career events for K-12 students to help them identify how their passions can help align with careers such as live event operations, production, music engineering and other fields.
In a news release, Affinity Plus President and CEO Dave Larson said, “By sponsoring the newest premier music venue in the state, we’re investing in our community in a meaningful and specific way, especially for those who love live music and events. We have always believed in giving back, and we are thrilled to support students who want to further their education, especially when it comes to pursuing a career in the music industry. We look forward to seeing the impact of The Fillmore venue as well as our scholarship program flourishing.”
The Fillmore Presented by Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union has its grand opening February 12th, with three consecutive sold-out shows by Brandi Carlile.
