Allison Johanson will have her mini-canvases that she will be on-hand to personalize and sign as a special gift\, there will also be watercolor sketchbook minis by Jim Hillegass\, art cards by Sahba Shere… and much more!\nP O P – U P \nWe’re also excited to be hosting two pop-ups with Goldfinch Modern Textile Craft and Kisa Boutique\, who will be offering clothing\, textiles and jewelry alongside our art! \nFriday 16th Nov\n10am to 8pm \nSaturday 17th Nov\n10am to 8pm \n*** HOLIDAY MARKET ***\nON NORTH FIFTH \n\nOur fabulous neighbors\, UMEI and Spring Finn & Co.\, will also be open for the duration of the event with live jazz on both nights and Pinku’s special chef\, JOHN SUGIMURA\, doing a guest cooking demonstration at UMEI on Saturday 17th from 6-7pm. DESCRIPTION:***** TRIO “JAZZ 404” WILL BE PERFORMING FROM 6-8PM*****\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Veronique Wantz Gallery is thrilled to bring you “CALL & RESPONSE” a solo show featuring works by local Minneapolis artist Jack Dale. \nPlease join us for an evening of fine art and conversation while enjoying his intuitive mark making and works of abstract expressionism. \nJack Dale\, an ex-hockey Olympian\, began by painting landscapes. 13 years ago\, he decided to change direction and hasn’t looked back since. \nInfluenced by many well-known abstract expressionist artists such as Twombly\, Diebenkorn\, De Kooning\, and Pollock to name a few; Dale’s works can be bold in organic form and also immersively detailed with a maze of marks intertwining on the canvas. \nWhether you attribute some pieces with an air of complexity and intelligence and others being more playful and lively\, they all start from a place of spontaneity and intuition. Without any preconceived ideas\, paint is applied to the canvas and from there on it is a series of brush strokes\, scrapes\, rollers\, smears\, layers and color combinations until the piece is completed. \nScrub\, scrape\, smudge\, repeat. \nWe look forward to sharing these incredible works with you!
