Two Popular Restaurateurs Partnering On A Hot New Night Spot
Two of the North Loop’s heavy hitters, Billy from Billy Sushi and Marty from Nolo’s Kitchen, just announced that they’re planning a new night spot in a place that’s been vacant for years–the annex in the back of the lot between Borough/Parlour and TractorWorks (home of Bar La Grassa), just off Washington Avenue.
In a text message to the North Loop Neighborhood Association, Billy announced it this way:
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Billy from Billy Sushi and Marty from Nolo’s—have officially partnered to acquire one of the most coveted properties in the neighborhood: the building between Bar La Grassa and Parlour Burger.
Billy had been eyeing the space since 2018. After years of persistence, he finally sealed the deal with Goldman Sachs—joining forces with Marty to bring a fresh, high-energy restaurant concept to life in the heart of the North Loop.
Their mission? Bring back the soul of North Loop nights—with unforgettable food, unbeatable vibes, and prices that keep the experience fun, not frustrating.
“The neighborhood’s ready for something new,” said Billy. “We’re blending Asian soul, American comfort, and Latin fire. It’s bold, it’s loud, and it’s made for people who want a good time.”
Inspired by the legendary chaos and charm of places like Chino Latino and Bellanotte, Billy and Marty’s upcoming spot is out to revive that magic—where every night had a vibe, and every table came with a story.
Let’s be honest—everyone in Minneapolis has at least one memory from Chino Latino or Bellanotte. Maybe it was your auntie’s wild birthday. Maybe your uncle left with a happy ending—whether it was the food… or something else. Maybe you still won’t admit what happened that night. Whatever the story—it lived rent-free in your head.
Now it’s time for the next chapter.
Same energy. New flavors. All heart.
Soft lights. Big flavors. Music up.
Where cultures collide, and good times simmer.
The name is still under wraps—but trust, it’s coming in hot.
