Service Saturday: James Rice Park Winter Park Prep

The November plan is Winter Park Prep which means late-season invasive removal and final mulching, watering of the 200 trees standing on either side of Basset Creek! We will divide up tasks depending on how many people show up.

Here’s what’s on the schedule for the day:

• Garbage collection along the riverbank. This is the main activity promoted through NLNA.
• Pre-winter tree maintenance. Making sure all 200 new trees have adequate mulch and water.
• Late-season invasive removal – especially Buckthorn, which stands out in November. We provide saws and loppers!

For the record, this is the final Tree Count going into winter with color codes for easy identification.
