Service Saturday

July 13 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

How good will you feel after donating an hour or so to help clean up this neighborhood that you love?

Service Saturday is the 2nd Saturday of each month in the North Loop. This month, we have two ways you can help:

Litter pickup: Join us at 9:30am outside Corner Coffee (514 N 3rd St) where we’ll set you up with bags and gloves. Then you’re free to pick up litter wherever you find it!  We’d also love to have you join us afterward at Cuzzy’s for brunch at 10:30.

Creekside cleanup: Join us at 10am as we put a special focus on Bassett Creek (or Hahá Wakpádan in Dakota language). Our efforts will be focused on litter and invasive removal around the Bassett Creek outlet (near the bridges in the woods of James Rice Park), and we will be joined by a group from Hennepin History Museum who are developing an oral history project on the relationship between the Dakota and the creek. There will be a table with information on the project, and we expect a large number of volunteers from Hennepin History Museum, and Valley Community Presbyterian Church, the project sponsor.
