Dave’s Hot Chicken Coming To North Loop In 2025

One of America’s fastest-growing restaurant chains, Dave’s Hot Chicken, is bringing its famously hot chicken tenders to the city’s hottest neighborhood, the North Loop.

Franchisee Alex Humphries told local reporters that he hopes to open within the first three months of 2025 in the Duffey Building along Washington Avenue.

“The mix of historic preservation and modern innovation in the North Loop creates a unique atmosphere that we believe is ideal for Dave’s Hot Chicken,” Humphries wrote to Bring Me The News. “Coupled with its diverse demographics and proximity to downtown Minneapolis, the North Loop provides a strong trade area that attracts both residents and visitors. We look forward to contributing to this community.”

The chicken at Dave’s can be ordered with no spice at all, but the options for heat range all the way from “Lite Mild” to “Reaper” which requires a signed waiver “for those who dare,” according to the company’s website.

A number of YouTubers have taken that dare and shared their experiences on camera.

Alex, along with his cousin Kris Humphries (the former Gopher/NBA star), have joined other family members in opening three other Dave’s franchises already in Minnesota. According to an article in Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, the family plans to open a total of 18 locally.

The North Loop location will join Backstory Coffee, Puralima Cantina and the soon-to-open Barcelona Wine Bar in the Duffey Project.
