Coming Soon: A Social Club For Serious Gamers

A new members-only club for people who are serious about their games is coming to the space above Public Domain this year, according to an article in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

“Imagine a country club – but instead of golf, it’s built around the games that bring people together,” is how the website for the Gamer’s Guild Social Club describes the concept. It will feature board games, tabletop role-playing games, cards, mahjong and tabletop miniature games.

The business is starting small, with just 20 founding members. And according to the website, 16 of those spots are already spoken for. But the owners, Adam and Bonnie Baker, plan to start expanding next year. Their ambition, according to their website, is to create “the preeminent gaming-focused social club in the world.”

Memberships start at $250 a month for a single member who can bring a guest. Couples can buy memberships for $417 to $833 a month with guests allowed.

The building is located at 119 Washington Avenue North.
