Artist Statement: Nature has designed the diversity of our terrain to captivate, calm, raise questions and settle us into accepting “the way it is.” Though giving us a range of emotions and responses, landscapes are constantly being edited. The editing process varies due to earthquakes, fires, floods and those deliberately done by man. In spite of the origin we’re still able to marvel at the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, the Sierra Madre, Swiss Alps or the wastelands of the deserts. The landscape images I present represent different locations visited, imagined and edited by me as I approach the painting process using oils and acrylics.
Mission Statement: Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art supports the work of mid-career professional artists with high-quality, affordable studios and the engagement of audiences with gallery exhibitions, open studio events, art classes and workshops.
