Family & Friends Day at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden

Join us at Family & Friends Day on June 9, 10 am to 4 pm

  • Enjoy a host of activities at the oldest public wildflower garden in the U.S.

  • Admire the current star of Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden: the Showy Lady’s-Slipper!

La luchadora

Activities themed around Minnesota’s beloved state flower include:

  • Lady’s-Slipper viewing
  • Poster-making with artists using La Luchadora, a paleta-inspired cart with an interactive mobile screen print (10 am to 2 pm)
  • Outdoor painting demonstrations
  • Nature Quest with prizes
  • Storytime and garden walk with Phyllis Root, author of “Searching for Minnesota’s Native Wildflowers” and “Plant a Pocket of Prairie” (10 am and 11 am)

  • Additional storytimes and related activities throughout the afternoon

  • Children’s games

  • And more …
