Why Were These Parked in the North Loop?

Passersby have been doing double takes this summer when going past the Mill City Apartments and seeing what was taking up several spaces in the parking lot.
In late June, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile was parked in the lot. Then in mid-July, the Planters Nutmobile was there.
We can now explain, after hearing from the Nutmobile’s driver, Adrienne Carpenter. The two oversized promotional vehicles are part of sister programs, driven by recent college graduates. Each had Twin Cities stops on their summer tours and each booked overnight stays at the TownePlace Suites, which shares a parking lot with Mill City.
“Each year 9 Peanutters and 12 Hotdoggers are selected to travel across the country,” wrote Carpenter as she and her crew were on the road to Eau Claire. “As Peanutters we travel in teams of three around the country on an east to west nut-crackin’ fest attending different events, fairs and festivals.”
Carpenter is all-in on the nut theme. She referred to herself as “Adrienne aka Adri-Almond” and ended her email with “Cashew later.”
