Celebrating The New Year in the North Loop
While many North Loop bars and restaurants will stay open past midnight on New Year’s Eve, several are planning special events to ring in 2020.
For example, Graze Provisions and Libations will feature two parties. The early one is a family-friendly event from 5-8 pm that will include a magician, photo booth, balloon drop and more, with no cover charge. The second party, from 9 pm – 1:30 am will have a cover charge that includes an open bar, one food item from the vendor of your choice and music from a DJ.
The Hewing Hotel has a 2020 Space Odyssey theme to its big New Year’s Eve party. The $100 cover charge includes live music, complimentary featured cocktails, light bites, dancing and more.
Bunker’s Music Bar and Grill will ring in the New Year with live reggae music from 9 pm – 1 am. Cover charge is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
Some restaurants will have special prix fixe menus with optional wine pairings for the holiday. They include The Bachelor Farmer, Borough and Kado No Mise.
The Freehouse will have a Roaring 20s theme for the night, with staff dressed up in 20s attire, music from a DJ starting at 10:00 and food and drink specials. No tickets are required but reservations to dine are encouraged.
The Loop, which is celebrating its 13th birthday in the North Loop, will have a DJ starting at 9 pm. There’s no cover charge but reservations are available for VIP tables.
Acme Comedy Company will have a 10:30 pm show with comedian Bengt Washburn for $30 ($60 with dinner included).
