Many Retailers Returning
Several North Loop retailers have reopened their doors with safety measures in place, now that the governor’s restrictions on in-store shopping have eased up.
Among those now welcoming shoppers inside: Statement Boutique, Shoesters, Queen Anna, Parc, Jeromeo (everything except massages), MitreBox Framing, Grethen House, Requisite, Ribnick, West Elm and the shops of D.NOLO: Jaxon Grey, Bumbershute and Kindred. Houser and Filigree announced on their social media pages that they will be allowing customers inside, but only by appointment for now.
MartinPatrick3 was able to open a week earlier because the governor allowed furniture stores to reopen and MartinPatrick sells a lot of home furnishings.
Meanwhile, Russell+Hazel has decided not to return to its large showroom on 3rd Avenue North, but it has set up a display across the street inside MartinPatrick3. And many people have noticed that the Lole store on Washington Avenue has been cleared of merchandise. The company has not announced publicly whether they plan to return. Bar Method announced that it was closing all its Twin Cities locations including the one in the North Loop.
There are positive signs at the new Madewell denim shop. Despite the bankruptcy filings of its parent company, J.Crew, construction work continues on the new shop on 3rd Avenue which was slated to open this spring. And crews were there this week, hanging an exterior sign as well as painting the Madewell name on the side of the building.
