Before Closing Next Month, Number 12 Plans Celebrations
Six years after realizing their dream of opening their own cidery in the North Loop, the owners of Number 12 Cider announced their plans to close.
In a video posted to their social media accounts, Steve Hance and Colin Post said Number 12’s last day would be Saturday, December 21st.
“Between now and then, rather than be sad about this, we’d like to celebrate what we accomplished,” said Hance, “because we’re really proud about the great ciders we made. We have more great ciders on tap right now than probably what we’ve ever had at any point in time.”
Hance and Post invited guests to visit to turn out over these final few weeks (the taproom is open daily) and take advantage of a can sale the weekend after Thanksgiving as well as their annual holiday market on December 7th.
“Steve and I have been lucky enough to live out our dream,” said Post, “so we want to finish this out with some celebrating.”
Hance and Post, who have been friends since childhood, opened Number 12 in November of 2018, just down the block from Target Field.
In this short video a few months later, they told us how they grew up climbing apple trees together, which later contributed to their interest in making craft cider.
Number 12 is located at 614 North 5th Street.
