Condé Nast Traveler Gives Hewing Hotel Another Readers’ Choice Award
The well-traveled readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine are asked to name their top hotels by region each year, and once again–for the 6th time–they’ve included The Hewing Hotel in their Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Midwest Hotels.
The Hewing opened at the corner of 3rd and Washington in the North Loop in 2016 after a complete makeover of the historic 1897 building that started as a farm implement warehouse.
In its review of the Hewing, the magazine noted that traces of the past can still be seen in the building but that it’s “otherwise a thoroughly contemporary, and endearingly Minnesotan hotel.”
“It’s such an honor to be included in such a prestigious list of hotels across the Midwest,” said Catherine Hall, general manager of the Hewing. “And we’re so grateful to be in one of the most hip, chic neighborhoods and be surrounded by some of the most premier boutiques and incredible dining experiences. We’ll continue to do our best to earn and keep this recognition.”
Hotels in Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Detroit took the top 6 spots in this year’s Top 15 list, while the Hewing came in at number 7 and is the only Minnesota hotel to receive this award in 2023.
