Dog Park Improvements Underway
Thanks to the generosity of neighbors and business owners, the North Loop dog park is getting even more upgrades than expected.
The North Loop Neighborhood Association started a GoFundMe campaign this summer in hopes of raising $5,000 which the NLNA would match with another $5,000. All that money is going to replace the rock surface which some dogs found to be a little sharp on their paws.
“Now they shouldn’t have any problems,” said NLNA board member Pedro Wolcott. “We’re going to have river rocks, pebbles that are rounder. They’re just softer on the pets’ paws and they can just run around a lot quicker and without getting hurt.”
Thankfully, the fundraising effort was so successful, we have additional money to add sitting benches along with more scoopers and banners. We’ll also fix up the existing wooden bench/storage compartment on the north side of the fenced-in area.
All the upgrades are expected to be finished by the end of this year.
