European Style Christmas Market Underway At North Loop Green
Just as Europeans have been doing for centuries, we have the chance to wander outside with a warm mug of mulled wine this winter while sampling schnitzel, crepes and other delicacies, and checking out holiday gift ideas from vendors in Alpine-style wooden huts.
The first-ever Minneapolis Christkindl Market is happening at the Green outside North Loop Green for five weekends: Nov 22-24, Nov 29-Dec 1, Dec 6-8, Dec 13-15 and Dec 20-22.
It’s open Fridays 4-9pm, Saturdays 11am-9pm and Sundays 11am-7pm.
“It’s all about community – bringing people together for an unforgettable experience full of festive cheer,” said executive director Nadine Schaefer, “and we look forward to creating a new tradition for years to come in the heart of Minneapolis.”
More than 30 local vendors representing 15 different countries will be on hand, along with a rotating list of entertainers.
The event is free to attend. North Loop Green is located at 350 North 5th Street, across from Target Field.
