We have an affordable housing crisis in Minneapolis, and addressing it has been a top priority of mine, of my colleagues on the City Council, and of the Mayor’s since day one of this term.
In two years so far, we have funded our Affordable Housing Trust Fund at record levels, passed an Inclusionary Zoning policy to require affordable units in market-rate developments, created a 4d affordable housing tax incentive program, re-prioritized our grant applications to give first preference to affordable housing projects, and so much more.
Central to ALL of these efforts is Andrea Brennan, our Housing Policy & Development Director in the Department of Community Planning & Economic Development — and her team.
