Free Ice Cream at Grand Opening of Melon Treats

For the next eight weeks, the Love Your Melon studio space in the North Loop will double as an ice cream shop, known as Melon Treats.
The apparel company known for its charitable giving is partnering with Blue Bunny Ice Cream to “engage the North Loop community and showcase our brand during the summer months,” said executive administrator Lauren Kotajarvi.
The grand opening is Thursday, July 11th at 4:00 PM, and the first 250 in line will get free ice cream. After that, the shop will be selling Melon Treats cups (three scoops with sprinkles and a cone on top) for $4.25.
UPDATE: The shop originally planned to serve ice cream Thursdays-Sundays only, but because of the high demand in the first few days, the company has decided to keep it open seven days a week through September 1st. Hours: Monday-Friday 4:00-10:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday noon-10:00 pm.
On its Instagram account @melontreats, the company says “50% of the proceeds from the ice cream and apparel sales will go to our non profit partners who are leading the way to fighting childhood cancer.”
