Free Live Music At Butcher & The Boar’s New Backyard Bashes
Inspired by the thousands of people who filled Butcher & The Boar’s parking lot last summer for the North Loop’s annual food truck fair, the restaurant staff had an idea.
“We figured we could probably host 2-3 events like this every summer,” said general manager Jonathan Gregory. “We wanted to have some fun with our neighbors outdoors and listen to some good tunes.”
So on July 20th and August 17th, they’re hosting Backyard Bashes with free live music from five bands, along with lots of beer and barbecue: ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, bratwurst, burgers and more from noon to 10pm.
Gregory said it was important to make the event free to attend.
“We wanted it to be accessible for everyone,” he said. “We re-opened after Covid in February of last year at our new location in the North Loop and we still get questions all the time about where we are, are we the same as the original, etc. We made this event free as a way of saying ‘Hey, we’re here, come check us out!'”
The bands lined up for July’s Backyard Bash are: Sammie Jean, Al Church, Funky Spuds Brass Band, LA Buckner and Big Homie, and Alex Rossi & Friends.
August’s music lineup has yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, this year’s North Loop Food Truck Fair will return to Butcher & The Boar’s parking lot on Sunday, September 29th.
