New Barber Shop Opens On Washington Avenue
The barber pole and sign haven’t arrived just yet, but the chairs are already filling up with clients at the new Stilo Cuts, 224 Washington Avenue North–where Edina Realty used to be.
“We cut all textures and types of hair,” said Kaleb Arradondo, owner of the North Loop shop. “There’s not really anybody that we haven’t cut. We want to make people happy and make it feel like everybody is welcome to come in and get a haircut at Stilo’s.”
Arradondo, at the far right in the plaid photo above, is the 2nd cousin of Medaria Arradondo, who just retired as Minneapolis Police Chief. “Here in the barber shop, people just call me Dondo,” he said.
It’s the fourth location for the Stilo Cuts company, which got its start in West St. Paul in 2015.
Arradondo said the company chose the North Loop for its latest location because of how well the neighborhood is doing. “It’s fun right now but I think it’s on the right path to getting everything it needs to be a complete neighborhood,” he said.
He knows what a dog-friendly neighborhood we have here, so he will have dog treats on hand for clients’ pets.
Stilo Cuts North Loop will be open 7 days a week.
