New Patio Bar/Restaurant Will Be Called The Butcher’s Backyard
Construction is still a few weeks away from completion, but by late June, Butcher & The Boar should be up and running with its spacious new patio bar & restaurant.
They’ll call it The Butcher’s Backyard and Brent Frederick, owner of the parent company, Jester Concepts, says it will have seating for up to 150, although guests will be welcome to also use the grassy area just beyond the patio.
“You’re living in North Loop, you don’t have a backyard, so this is gonna serve as that,” Frederick said. “You can hang out on the grass, you can bring your dogs, grab a drink. You can bring a towel or a blanket to lay out.”
The patio, which will be about 50% covered, will have its own servers and bartenders, and the menu will be more casual, similar to what they already offer in their back bar, Char Bar.
“Not having an outside space for two years was a little tough; this has always been part of our plan,” said Frederick. “We’ll have an entrance right off the sidewalk there on 3rd Street. Then you’ll actually be able to come through the restaurant as well.”
You can keep an eye on Butcher & The Boar’s Instagram and Facebook pages for updates on the patio’s opening.
