No Fair? No Problem
This would ordinarily be the time we’re starting to dream of those sweet, greasy delights awaiting us at the Minnesota State Fair. But with its cancellation this year, we’ll have to do without pickle dogs, deep-fried Twinkies and gator on a stick.
Some North Loop restaurants, though, are stepping up to offer some fair-inspired alternatives. For example, Red Cow is offering cheese curds, brat bites, sliders and other special menu items beginning August 20th.
Red Rabbit will also be rotating through foods like Italian street corn on the cob, basil Limoncello freeze-pops and fried bleu cheese-stuffed olives.
First Draft Taproom now has cinnamon sugar mini-donuts drizzled with Sociable Cider caramel and whipped cream.
On weekends, The Loop has a grill outside, cooking up burgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob.
And even the upscale Demi is getting into the act, offering what it calls a “Demi size” bucket of chocolate chip cookies.
