North Loop Annual Meeting Will Be In Historic Event Space
Some come for the fabulous prizes and free SWAG bags from North Loop businesses, some turn out to elect their friends and neighbors to the board or give input on what initiatives we should tackle in the coming year.
The Annual Meeting of the North Loop Neighborhood Association is a big, free event that typically draws 300-400 people, and it’s set for Wednesday, January 29th.
“The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to not only connect with what has happened but also be a part of what is going to happen in the North Loop neighborhood,” said Scott Woller, NLNA board member.
This year, we’ve selected The Underground Music Venue to host it. It’s a building from the 1880s tucked away in a semi-secluded section of 3rd Avenue North, just a block away from Target Field.
Here’s a video to help you find it from 3rd and Washington:
“We’re part of the North Loop and we would like very much to have people from the North Loop know who we are,” said owner Kenny Plunkett.
The building is divided into a few different spaces including a large performance venue/event space which holds more than 500 people.
Several North Loop business reps will be on hand offering free samples and information about what they do. For those who need to drive, there are a few metered spaces as well as a large parking ramp next door.
Here’s the schedule for this year’s event:
5:00 Business Social–North Loop business owners and managers are invited to share a drink and network with other business leaders from the neighborhood.
5:30-6:30 Candidate Forum–Get to know the people who are on this year’s ballot for the North Loop Neighborhood Association board.
6:30 Annual meeting–This is when we give out prizes, celebrate what we accomplished in 2024 and ask you to weigh in on where our volunteers should focus their efforts in 2025. You’ll also cast your votes for the next board members (we’ll give you their info at the meeting) and city leaders be in the crowd as well.
7:30 After Party–North Loop businesses and non-profits hand out free samples of food, drink, discount coupons and general information about what they do; Underground Music Venue will also have a full bar open for those who want to purchase drinks.
