North Loop for the Holidays and Beyond
Small Business Saturday may have passed, but North Loop retailers, restaurants, coffee shops and more have plenty to offer for the rest of the holiday season and beyond.
“These small businesses are the ones who support our neighborhood all year long, so we should do our part to support them,” said Diane Merrifield, president of the North Loop Neighborhood Association. “When we need event sponsors, meeting spaces, swag bag items, you name it, they’re the first to say ‘yes’ and step up.”
With few exceptions, most North Loop retailers are owned by local individuals or run by local franchisees. For example, Molly Blanski has owned Statement Boutique since 2016. “We support over 25 local artists, so we are home to 25 local people you can support. It’s like a local sandwich here,” said Blanski.

Event Bookings, Gift Cards
Besides finding something special for everyone on your gift lists, North Loop restaurants are also booking holiday parties for office teams, friend groups and families.

Many North Loop restaurants are booking up for holiday parties. This is Red Cow’s newly remodeled event space.
Gift cards for restaurants and coffee shops are a great way to treat yourself and friends, as most gift card offers include a bonus card for the buyer in addition to gift cards for others. Check with your favorite establishments to learn more.

Stay Local All Winter Long
Some establishments are expanding the holiday spirit to last all winter. For example, Graze Food Hall by Travail has created “Graze Aprés,” a winter experience that lasts through February. “Offering unique opportunities to celebrate our Bold North Winter throughout the holidays and beyond is a great way to keep our community thriving,” explained Molly Herrmann, Director of Operations.
Shop Small + Local Throughout the Year

Vivid Home is another locally-owned North Loop shop.
However you choose to buy local this holiday season, consider making it a habit beyond just one weekend. “Shopping small should be a lifestyle, not a trend,” said Blanski.
