A tasting room, bar, and patio will be part of the package

Between breweries and cideries and cocktail rooms, it seems like the North Loop has every possible social drinking venue covered. Aaron and Ashley Schram disagree.

As of this week, the duo behind Schram Vineyards and Schram Haus Brewery have signed a lease in the Internet Exchange Building at 411 Washington Avenue, where they’re planning to launch their first urban winery.

The new venture will include production facilities, a bar and tasting area and an outdoor patio, and is slated for a 2020 opening.

“The North Loop is a burgeoning neighborhood, rich with production and industrial history—we see it as the place to be to make locally crafted wine more accessible,” said Ashley in a Schram Vineyards press release. “It’ll be a great complement to the local breweries Minneapolis has become known for, giving guests the opportunity to experience on-site wine production, as well as taste, socialize, and buy wine.”
