Spring Crawl Goes Virtual
For four days this month, you’ll get a chance to shop the North Loop from home—with samples of everything from clothing, beauty products and jewelry to beer and dessert—as local businesspeople take turns going before the camera in a pop-up version of a home shopping network.
“We just kind of go into what we call ‘our Vanna White’ and just start presenting stuff,” said Nicole Jennings, owner of Queen Anna House of Fashion.
Jennings is organizing a virtual version of the North Loop’s annual Spring Crawl May 28-31. Even though she and several other owners have reopened for in-store shopping this week, she knows there are still many clients who’d prefer to shop from home.
So, here’s the lineup she has so far—and some businesses may still be added yet:
THURSDAY, MAY 28TH
5:00 – 6:00 PM MODIST BREWING and STATEMENT BOUTIQUE
FRIDAY, MAY 29TH
5:00 – 6:00 PM GOLDFINE JEWELRY, J.D. HOYT’S and JEROMEO
SATURDAY, MAY 30TH
10:00 – 11:00 AM QUEEN ANNA HOUSE OF FASHION, EDWARDS DESSERT KITCHEN and MARTINPATRICK3
SUNDAY, MAY 31ST
10:00 – 11:00 AM BRIAN GRAHAM SALON and PARC SHOP
Those who’d like to take part can sign up for free tickets for any or all the dates, which will give them their access code to the Zoom presentation. Businesses will be able to follow up afterward with summaries of everything they presented.
Jennings said it’s important to do whatever it takes to keep the neighborhood’s businesses open. “There’s nothing else like the North Loop—that I’ve experienced anyway,” she said. “It’s been flourishing ever since I moved in and this could be quite impactful for a lot of businesses and the community.”
