Now Open: Love Your Melon
From its founding in 2012, Love Your Melon has been almost exclusively an e-commerce business (with half the proceeds going to help children battling cancer), although the company’s storefront in the North Loop has hosted a few pop-ups and photo shoots.
Now they’re trying something new with a 6-month run as a retail shop, open four days a week at the corner of 3rd and Washington.
“This is our first time having it throughout the winter,” said store manager Vaughn Phillips, “so we’re really excited.”
With several styles of hats and headbands available for purchase, the shop also features a build-your-own beanie station.
“You come along at the back of the store and you pick out your patch, you pick out your beanie, you pick out your pom,” said Phillips, “and we’ve got the sewing machine here and we sew it right in front of you.”

The shop will be open Thursdays-Sundays 10am-6pm from now through March. An official grand opening celebration is planned for November 4th.
