Thursday Nights In The Alley
Even though the temperature was hovering around 30 degrees for the first night of the Hewing Hotel’s new Thursday night event, Street Suite, nearly every time slot was fully booked.
With two chefs working over an open fire and a bartender serving up drinks, the hotel had ten tables and six portable heaters set up in the alley between the hotel and MartinPatrick3.
“It’s something fun to do, something outdoors,” said Rosey Amor, the Hewing’s Food and Beverage Manager. “We have this beautiful space so we were like, why not do a chef pop-up with an open fire and heaters, some warm cocktails?”
Hewing Executive Chef Nyle Flynn along with chef Yia Vang will change up the menu each week, but for the first night, they were offering charred yam, duck sausage, pork and beef meatballs, Szechuan coffee crust steak and other bites.
For $48, each guest will have unlimited bites plus two drinks, with options including an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or beer and wine options. They’re seated for one-hour time slots.
Three more nights of Street Suite are planned, no matter the weather, on November 5th, 12th and 19th.
