Trax Reopening, Fillmore Starting To Book Concerts
The operators of Trax Burgers and Bar can finally take advantage of their location next to Target Field as they reopen on Tuesday, May 25th at 4pm with fans heading to the Twins game against the Orioles.
Trax had its grand opening just weeks before the shutdown of March 2020. Then, when restrictions finally eased, the Twins went on to play a shortened season without any fans in the stands and there were no concerts at the adjacent Fillmore.
Now, though, Trax is coming back and the Fillmore is starting to book concerts for late summer.
“It’s been a tough year, I’m not going to lie,” said Tad Dugan, GM of the Fillmore and Trax, “but at the same time we love this community and this neighborhood in particular. We made a commitment to be in the North Loop of Minneapolis and we want to be here so we’re here.”
Trax will be open Tuesdays-Saturdays starting at 4pm, although if the Twins are playing a day game, they’ll open earlier to accommodate fans leaving the ballpark.
“All the big burgers are on the menu,’ Dugan said, “and the calamari and chicken meatballs are back, the bacon candy and chicken sandwich.” The bar menu remains the same–including the popular Metro martini with the bubble on top that vaporizes when you pop it.
Besides concerts, The Fillmore also counts on hosting weddings and other private events.
As they’ve been doing staff training at Trax over the past couple of weeks, they’ve seen interest from passersby. “We had a bunch of people just wandering in asking, ‘you guys open yet?’ so it’s promising,” said Dugan. “It’s going to be a fun Fall.
