Where To Get Christmas Dinners To Heat And Serve
If you’re hoping to serve a special Christmas dinner that you don’t have to cook yourself, the North Loop has options ranging from turkey to duck breast to lobster pot pie.
The Freehouse
The Freehouse is taking pre-orders for traditional turkey and/or ham meals that you can pick up either on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. They include cheesy potatoes, green been casserole, cornbread stuffing, salads and other extras.
Red Cow/Red Rabbit
Red Cow and Red Rabbit have two special takeout options to heat and serve for 4-6 people: herb crusted beef tenderloin or fried chicken. The 12-piece chicken meal comes in either classic or Nashville hot with roasted baby baked potatoes, coleslaw, cheddar and chive biscuits with honey butter, macaroni and cheese, banana cream pie and several à la carte options to add on. The tenderloin steak meal (photo at the top of this article) comes with honey almond Brussels sprouts, roasted carrots with chili honey crème fraiche, roasted baby baked potatoes, superfood salad, artisan bread, charcuterie board and chocolate cake with butter cream cheese frosting. They’re taking orders through Sunday, December 20th. Curbside pickup will be December 23rd at the Red Cow in Uptown between 9am – 6pm.
Smack Shack’s Lobster Pot Pie Christmas Dinner is now available for pre-order. It serves two and includes two Lobster Pot Pies, a Mixed Greens Salad, and Key Lime Pie. Order by December 20th for pick up on December 24th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
NOLO’s Kitchen has an Italian-style meal with lasagna as the main course for their Christmas take-out. And they’re taking pre-orders now through December 20th, with pickup on December 24th between 11am-3pm. To order, call 612-800-6033.
Ono Hawaiian Plates
Ono Hawaiian Plates has holiday meal packs for 4-6 people, featuring a full rack of Asian BBQ Pulehu ribs, Hawaiian teriyaki BBQ chicken, salad, fried rice and Hawaiian sweetbread pudding. Pre-orders should be made 48 hours in advance and they’re available for pickup Thursdays-Sundays at either 4pm or 5pm.
Borough is taking orders for single-serving Danish Holiday Dinners featuring duck breast with rich duck gravy, slow-braised red cabbage with vinegar and berry preserves, buttered potatoes with parsley, caramelized potatoes, potato chips and roasted apple.

From Kado no Mise: The Kado Holiday Meal is available for pickup on December 23 from 12PM-4PM. Preordering is available until December 21. The meal serves either 2 or 4 depending on your selection and involves minimal preparation in order to enjoy and comes with instructions for cooking. Kamo Nabe: Japanese hot pot kit with duck, mushrooms, & cabbage, Sake Yuan Yaki; Soy- and yuzu-marinated king salmon; Zuwaigani Gohan: Dashi-seasoned Yumepirika rice with snow crab; Nanbanzuke: Chilled deep-fried whitefish with dashi vinaigrette, carrots, & onions; Kale Goma-ae: Kale with sesame dressing and Kuzu mochi: Red bean mochi with soybean flour.
Wrecktangle Pizza has a couple of holiday pizza party packages that you can take and bake, with the larger option feeding up to six people. They include large sides of mashed potatoes and gravy, Brussels sprouts gratin with crispy garlic chili, a family-sized Caesar salad and non-alcoholic drinks. They’re taking pre-orders now and you can choose when to pick up your order between December 22-24.
Even Cuzzy’s is offering a fancy meal to go, featuring prime rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, Caesar salad and rolls. You’ll find it on their to-go menu here toward the bottom under “specials.”
