North Loop Wine And Spirits Nearly Doubling In Size
Though business has been strong for the past 12 years, Lisa Impagliazzo, owner of North Loop Wine and Spirits, often wondered how much better things would be if her shop wasn’t so cramped. So when the next-door salon moved out at the end of 2020, she seized the opportunity to expand.
“We always had more stuff we wanted to show and do,” she said. “It’s just such a great neighborhood and we felt it was the right time, right place, and everybody knows I was out of space.”
Construction is still underway, and shipping delays have pushed back the arrival of things like wine racks and lighting, but she’s already been able to take advantage of the new space to install a large beer cooler along with the beginning stages of a new tequila and bourbon section.
When finished, the shop will have a new wine tasting bar, spirits tasting bar and four checkout areas in the center instead of the current one checkout.
And Impagliazzo hopes to resume events in the basement such as wine classes this winter.
“That’s something that everyone’s been begging to do,” she said, “but with Covid, construction and everything I haven’t been able to do it.”
If all goes well, she’d like to start those classes again in February.
