Let’s root for each other and celebrate National Farmers Market Week! You are officially invited!
The Minneapolis Farmers Market has provided fresh produce & products since 1876. Today we have two markets with one goal. We’re on a mission to bring goodness to our community all year round!
The Minneapolis & Nicollet Mall Farmers Markets generate over 4.5 Million dollars in vendor sales and support 780 jobs annually. Over 80% of our vendors are owned and operated by women. 3,400 agricultural acres are owned, leased, or managed by our vendors with produce traveling on average 34 miles from farm to market. Every year our Farmers donate around 76% of their leftover produce and then is given to our food rescue partnerships like The Food Group. During the height of the vegetable season, our farmers collectively donate over 3,000 pounds of fresh produce per day. Food access is an important part of our work. Over $80,000 of SNAP-EBT and Market Bucks were redeemed from our vendors from May through October.
Rooted in goodness, we want to encourage our customers to eat fresh, buy locally and continue to grow a vibrant community together.
Join us on Saturday, August 7th from 6 am to 1 pm, rain or shine! We’ll have fun activities planned throughout the day including kid’s activities from 9 am to Noon.
