Sweet Treats And Artisanal Home Goods Coming To Second Street
The cereal-infused ice cream + boba shop that became a media sensation when it opened on St. Paul’s Grand Avenue in 2019 is expanding to the North Loop. Treats is one of two locally-owned tenants just announced for the street-level retail spaces of the new Intersect apartments, expected to open in late November of this year.
The other is a Story & Teller, a brand new sustainably-sourced home goods store being launched by local marketing executive Rachel Cafferty.

“We listened to the neighborhood,” said Patrick Crowe, owner of Crowe Companies which is developing Intersect. “We didn’t bring another salad joint in or wedding venue. We wanted that local, vibrant operator to bring that sort of continuation of the North Loop feel.”
Treats is best known for its smooth but semi-crunchy ice cream, flavored with tiny bits of sweet cereals. The boba and matcha teas have also been big draws. But when the North Loop shop opens in November, its hot waffles (also infused with cereal), hot chocolate and coffee should also be in high demand.

Treats is owned by siblings Trisha Seng and Minh Dinh who transitioned from careers in finance to form this new venture four years ago.
Story & Teller will feature “unique, artisanal homewares,” according to Cafferty. And in keeping with the name of her new business, she looks forward to sharing their stories as she introduces herself to the neighborhood.
“The North Loop’s dynamic energy and reputation as an emerging design hub align perfectly with my vision for Story & Teller,” Cafferty said.
Meanwhile, the residential units at Intersect, ranging from small Alcove units to two-bedroom apartments, should also be ready for move-in by the end of November.
