Grand Opening Set For Cereal-Infused Ice Cream Shop
As they’ve been building fanbases in other parts of the metro with their cereal-infused ice cream, waffles and boba, the owners of Treats say a lot of customers kept nudging them toward Minneapolis.
“A lot of our regulars actually live in North Loop and were just saying, ‘Trisha and Minh, you guys would do amazing in North Loop,’” said Trisha Seng who founded Treats in 2019 along with her brother, Minh Dinh.
Their North Loop opening date is now set for Saturday, March 16th at 11am and they’re offering a “free item for the first 50 customers.” You’ll find them on the street level of the new Intersect apartment building on North 2nd Street, behind lululemon.
Their ice cream comes with a bit of nostalgia as customers choose from childhood breakfast favorites like Lucky Charms, Cocoa Pebbles or Froot Loops to provide the flavor and texture.
“So imagine a bowl of cereal in milk, replacing the milk with ice cream,” said Trisha. “The texture is very rich and creamy yet you get that nice texture of crispiness from the cereal.”
“We want to make sure that every item you receive is very Instagrammable and very tasty as well,” she said.
Treats is also known for its all-day waffles and boba teas.
“We have your traditional milk teas, we offer fruit teas, lots of flavors like mango, strawberry, also smoothies,” said Minh. “And any of those categories you can definitely add any boba toppings. The most common one is gonna be your tapioca pearls—those are the chewy black pearls.”
This will be the third location for Treats, with a fourth coming this spring at Mall of America.
“I hang out here (in the North Loop) a lot,” said Minh. “This is the place to be. This is where we want to work too.”
The other retail space on the street level of Intersect will be filled by Story & Teller, an artisan home and lifestyle boutique with curated home goods and interior styling services. It’s set to open April 1st.
