Stay in the Loop

Clinic For Facial And Skin Treatments Opening New Space Here

The historic red brick building that has stood at 107 Third Avenue North for 135 years has now been thoroughly remodeled and refreshed.

And for Erin Hewitt, a Family Nurse Practitioner who’s about to open Hjem Aesthetics on the third floor, it’s a nice metaphor for what she offers clients, in terms of non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

“I believe in what we do, to keep people looking the best version of themselves, not like anybody else,” she said. “We’re in a building that has stood the test of time, it still has the bones of that beautiful construction.”

When her new boutique medical aesthetic clinic opens at the end of the month, it will offer a variety of facial and skin treatments including fillers, Botox, bio-stimulators, micro-needling and chemical peels.

She named her clinic Hjem (pronounced Yem) after the Norwegian word for home, or place of belonging.

“It resonated with me not only because my heritage is Norwegian,” she said, “but also because I wanted a place where my patients felt comfortable, felt welcomed, felt like family.”

For the past year, Erin has been seeing clients at a suite inside Arch Salon in the North Loop as she searched for a place of her own. And she didn’t have to go far to find a space she fell in love with.

“Obviously the North Loop is such an amazing neighborhood,” she said. “I feel like there’s a huge sense of community here, which I love.”

Hjem’s official opening date is set for Monday, September 30th.
