Custom Clothing Maker Opens New Shop In North Loop
People of all body types and sizes who want their clothes to fit just right have turned to Daniel’s Custom Clothing to make one-of-a-kind suits, dresses, formal wear and other clothing for 30+ years in downtown Minneapolis.
Now, Daniel Stensgaard is excited to be on the other side of the tracks in his new North Loop shop.
“I think the North Loop is food, fashion and fun,” he said. “I dine here, I walk my dog here. I’m probably going to buy a condo here.”
Fresh off winning Minnesota Bride Magazine’s Best of 2024 award for “Best Custom Wedding Attire,” his shop does a lot of business with wedding parties but also creates unique clothing for everyone from business people to professional athletes.
“Mostly what we do is sit down and consult your lifestyle and decide how we can make clothing to enhance your lifestyle. We have fabrics from around the world, mostly Italy and England,” Stensgaard said.
With help from assistant Alysha Haugen, they’re able to sketch out the new pieces before sending them off to be made in one of the factories they partner with around the world.
“We are here to build a wardrobe for people who need something that fits them really well,” Alysha said.
Daniel’s Custom Clothing is now in the Union Plaza building, just across the parking lot from Dario restaurant, at 333 North Washington Avenue.
