More Burger Options Arriving In The North Loop
In a neighborhood already home to some well-regarded burgers, Trax Burgers and Bar is set to open February 3rd in the new building on 5th Street North that houses the Fillmore Music Hall and Element by Westin Hotel.
It shares the same entryway as the Fillmore, but it will be its own stand alone restaurant with no concert ticket required to eat there.
Tad Dugan, the General Manager of both the Fillmore and Trax, moved here recently from Utah and has been scoping out the North Loop. “It’s been fun coming to town and getting to try all of the different burgers around town from Parlour and Red Cow, and they’re all putting out fantastic products,” he said, “and I believe we’re right there with them. So I’m just kind of happy to join the club of fantastic burgers in Minneapolis.”
Among his favorite dishes at Trax: the Wagyu Marrow Burger, a Wagyu brisket & ribeye blend with Gruyere cheese, triple cheese mornay, Nueske’s bacon onion jam and truffle aioli. He’s also excited about the Range Chicken Meatballs with San Marzano ragu, onion jam, barrata and parmesan cheese, and the OMG Oreos, which are fried double stuff oreos with Ghirardelli chocolate and Chantilly cream.
Trax is sourcing nearly all of its foods from producers within a 200-mile radius of Minneapolis and it also has craft beers on tap from local brewers such as Fulton, Surly and Fair State.
Its bar will feature some Instagrammable creations, including a version of the Cosmopolitan that will arrive at your table with a sugar liquid bubble on top that you get to pop. It’s a flavored vape that releases a pleasant aroma when you pop it.
The restaurant has seating for 80 inside, and when the weather gets warmer, there are garage doors leading to a front patio that can be raised to make it an open air restaurant. It will be open 7 days a week from 11 am to 11 pm Sunday-Thursday and 11am to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
