Borough’s Closing Will Make Way For Revival Fried Chicken
We have about four more weeks to enjoy Borough before the restaurant closes permanently. The building at 730 North Washington will then be remodeled to provide a new space for Revival Fried Chicken.
Parlour will also be briefly affected, with a remodeling between June 28th – July 6th.

Jester Concepts Announces Closing of Borough; Revival to Open in North Loop Space
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — After more than 13 years in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, Jester Concepts announced today that Borough will close on June 28th, with the final day of service on June 27th. The space will reopen as Revival, marking the return of the beloved restaurant concept to the Twin Cities under Jester Concepts ownership following the company’s acquisition of the brand in 2025.
Since opening in January 2013, Borough helped define dining in the North Loop, earning acclaim for its modern seasonal fare, thoughtful hospitality, and distinctive design. Over the years, the restaurant became a cornerstone of Minneapolis’ evolving culinary scene and a destination for celebrations, date nights, and memorable meals.
Beyond the dining room, Borough also became a launching ground for culinary and hospitality talent in the Twin Cities. Over the years, chefs, managers, bartenders, and hospitality professionals who helped shape Borough’s identity have gone on to lead kitchens, open restaurants, and contribute to the continued growth of Minneapolis’ restaurant community. The restaurant’s influence extended far beyond its walls, helping shape a generation of hospitality talent throughout the city.
“Borough has meant so much to our company, our team, and the Minneapolis dining community,” said Brent Frederick, founder of Jester Concepts. “We are incredibly proud of what Borough represented over the last 13 years and grateful to every guest, employee, and partner who has been part of its story.”
“What makes me most proud isn’t just the restaurant itself, but the people who helped build it,” Frederick said. “So many talented individuals came through Borough’s doors and went on to do incredible things for this industry and this city. That legacy will always mean something to us.”
“As operators, we have to continue adapting to where the industry and our guests are headed,” Frederick said. “This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it is the right one to ensure long-term sustainability for our company and continued opportunity for our employees.”
Jester Concepts confirmed the North Loop space will remain active as Revival opens in Borough’s place following a remodel and reconcept of the restaurant. Known for its award-winning fried chicken, Southern-inspired comfort food, and approachable neighborhood atmosphere, Revival represents a natural next step for the space.
As part of the transition, Parlour will also temporarily close to undergo updates and improvements to the space. Jester Concepts plans to reopen Parlour on Monday, July 6th. Guests will be welcomed back to a refreshed space while continuing to enjoy the Parlour Burger and cocktails in the neighborhood atmosphere they have come to know and love.
The company emphasized that supporting current Borough employees remains a top priority throughout the transition. Team members will be offered opportunities across the Jester Concepts portfolio wherever possible, with a focus on retaining talent and maintaining long-term stability within the organization.
“When you’ve built something this special, you don’t look at it as simply closing a restaurant,” Frederick said. “You look at it as honoring a beloved brand while creating space for a new chapter.”
The final weeks of Borough will serve as a celebration of the restaurant’s lasting impact on Minneapolis dining culture, honoring the guests, employees, chefs, bartenders, and hospitality professionals who helped shape its legacy over the last 13 years. Through special events, collaborations, returning menu favorites, and nods to Borough’s history, Jester Concepts plans to recognize the role the restaurant played in helping cultivate talent and contribute to the evolution of the Twin Cities culinary scene. Additional details surrounding Borough’s final celebrations and plans for Revival’s opening will be announced in the coming months.
