Stay in the Loop

This Is What The New “Luxury Spot For Men” Will Be

For more than two months, the mysterious signs in the middle windows of 250 Third Avenue North have had people guessing. “Coming Soon,” the signs read, with a simple shot of a chair and the words “Luxury Spot For Men, 5/26.”

Well, here we are in the middle of May, and we can finally reveal that it’ll be a brand new… barbershop. It’s called Savron.

The owner, Albe Herrera, can almost anticipate your disappointment that it’s not something more unique, but he’s promising this will be a different barbershop experience than most men are used to. More attentive, less rushed. Big TV screens showing the game and a tasty cup of coffee from his mother’s coffee farm in Colombia.

And for Albe himself, it’s the culmination of many years of hard work.

“It’s the American dream, you know?,” he said. “I, coming from Colombia, and the American dream is, you make your own business, working for your family, and that’s why I’m here.”

Construction coming along on the new shop

Albe and his wife, Sandy, have two children. Sandy will be working the front desk at the new shop, which officially opens in June.

“I am really happy for the opportunity to stay here in North Loop,” he said, “and then scared too, you know, because it’s an expensive area. All my dreams are here.”

He will start to bring a few of his clients in soon, even as the final construction work continues around them. Three other barbers have already signed on to work at Savron and he has plenty of room for others to join them.
