Donation Drive Seeks Baby Needs And Masks

On Saturday, June 6th, the North Loop Neighborhood Association will again collect donations for those in need. This time, we’re narrowing the focus to baby products–diapers, wipes and formula–because we continue to hear of the high numbers of families facing this immediate need. We will be partnering with the group Operation Baby New Year to distribute these products to those who need them.

Justin Lewandowski, who leads that organization in northeast Minneapolis said, “We are collecting diapers at our location so we can dispatch diapers to drop-off sites struggling with diaper need (which is sadly almost all of them). Our mission is to ensure we’re getting diapers out to as many as we physically can. We are also delivering diapers to people who reach out to us who are immune compromised, have health issues, or do not have access to transportation to get to community distribution sites; we’ve had about two dozen of those and counting.”

We will also accept donations of face masks. We have connections with a number of senior homes in north Minneapolis that have had difficulty obtaining enough masks for residents.

Please drop off your donations Saturday between 1-3 near the North Loop Playground at James I Rice Park, West River Parkway and 4th Avenue North.
